MUBIA

Geomuseo delle Biancane in Monterotondo Marittimo is a museum which, from the birth of geothermal energy and development of the area, tells the geological story of the territory from the discovery of boric acid to the production of electricity. Here, it is possible to understand geodiversity, the methods and causes for which the minerals and rocks formed and understand why the soil is so hot and white in colour. MUBIA is also a multimedia museum in which the visitor can immerse themselves in a virtual journey inside the depths of the earth to discover the geothermal phenomena which have made the area famous. MUBIA is open from Friday to Sunday from 10 am to 1 pm and from 3 pm to 6 pm.
