Vetulonia is a small village which, from high up, overlooks the plain of Grosseto and is one of the most important testimonies of the flourishing Etruscan civilisation. For centuries, it was a political and artistic power, as well as an important Etruscan trading centre. The archaeological area of Vetulonia developed among the Etruscan wonders of the Tomb of Pietrera and The Tombs of Diavolino and Fibula d’Oro, which are home to numerous testimonies of the historical and cultural liveliness of the area.
