L'eremo di San Guglielmo di Malavalle

Historical monuments | Castiglione della Pescaia
The hermitage is an architectural structure built during the Middle Ages and now immersed in a lush thick forest. The building, which can only be visited from the outside, presents an architecture consistent with that of medieval Benedictine monasteries with a church in Romanesque style in the inside dating back to the 13th century. In addition to being important archaeological evidence of the history of Castiglione della Pescaia, the hermitage is also a fundamental religious destination for pilgrims thanks to the presence of the tomb of San Guglielmo da Malavalle.
