This nature reserve created in 1971, with the intent of studying the vegetation present in the forest, is situated in the centre of Parco di Montioni. It is strictly forbidden to access the main area of the Reserve and the only way to visit it is to travel a route which goes along its border. There are many enormous floral specimens including Holm oak, Turkey oak and Cork oak; as regards the fauna, the most widespread animals are wolves and wild boars.
The nature reserve is not reachable by car, but it is possible to arrive on foot or by mountain bike along the numerous trails of Parco di Montioni. The quickest is route number 9 which takes directly to the Reserve starting from the car park.
