Subbuteo on the Beach 2026: Sports, Friendship, and Solidarity on Follonica Beach
On Saturday 1° August, one of the most anticipated events of the Follonica summer returns for Subbuteo fans. The fifth edition of “Subbuteo on the Beach”, the tournament organized by Club Maremma Subbuteo with the patronage of the Municipality of Follonica, will take place on the Soccer Cage field, adjacent to the beach.
The Municipality has always supported the Club's initiatives and, in particular, this event, whose main solidarity objective is to raise funds for AriSLA, once again confirming its sensitivity to a project that combines sport and solidarity.
The 2026 edition will have an even deeper meaning. The entire day will be dedicated to the memory of Andrea Parri, a Club member who recently passed away after fighting ALS.
«Andrea was much more than a playmate for all of us – says the president of the Maremma Subbuteo Club, Stefano Pistolesi –. He was a friend, always present in the life of the Club, capable of transmitting passion and team spirit. Dedicating this day to him was the most natural way to remember him and continue to feel part of our family.»
Forty players from all over Italy will compete on the pitches set up at the Soccer Cage. Requests for participation would have allowed for even higher numbers, but by playing the tournament from late afternoon until late evening, the number of participants must necessarily be limited.
Each edition of “Subbuteo on the Beach” features a different theme. This year, the choice fell on the FA Cup, the historic English Cup, with participants being invited to show up wearing English club shirts. A tribute to Andrea Parri, a great fan of English football, so that his passion can continue to accompany a day that will unite sport, friendship, and remembrance.
Now in its fifth year, Subbuteo on the Beach is now a fixture of the Follonica summer, attracting fans from all over Italy and demonstrating how a simple game can transform into a moment of aggregation, memory, and solidarity.
