MassainScena 2024: Comedy Theater Series.

From 16/02/2024 to 28/04/2024
"On Friday, February 16, at 5:30 PM, the second edition of the MassainScena comedy theater series will be presented at the Gaetano Badii Municipal Library. Following the presentation, the play 'L'uomo dal fiore in bocca,' a bourgeois drama by Luigi Pirandello, will be performed by the cultural association Liber Pater.

Here is the complete program for the rest of the series, which will take place in the San Bernardino hall:

- Sunday, February 18: 'Donnacce 2, la vendetta' - Le Donnacce.
It's a show dedicated to the marvelous and contradictory feminine universe where the most outdated stereotypes about the fair sex are overturned and interpreted comically.

- Sunday, March 3: 'Atti impuri' - Liber Pater.

- Sunday, March 17: 'Taxi a due piazze' - La Barcaccia.
'Taxi a due piazze' tells the story of a taxi driver, Mario Rossi, leading a double life with two wives, Carla and Barbara, and two homes, one in  Risorgimento Square and the other in Irnerio Square. After being assaulted while defending an elderly lady from two thugs, Mario is hospitalized, and in his confusion, he inadvertently gives both addresses to the police.

- Sunday, April 7: 'Dove vai tutta nuda' - Ridi pagliaccio company.
'Dove vai tutta nuda' is a collection of three hilariously funny one-act plays by Georges Feydeau. Set in early 20th-century Paris during the Belle Époque, the three stories revolve around the humorous twists in bourgeois couples' relationships and the resulting social conventions.

- Sunday, April 14: 'Distr-Atti' - Liber Pater.

- Sunday, April 28: 'Non sparate sul postino' - Scompagnati theatre.
Derek Benfield narrates a rather intricate story in this comedy set in a castle opened to the public due to the owners' financial difficulties. The tale involves a valuable painting, two recently released thieves seeking revenge, a fallen countess and her 'eccentric' husband, a retired colonel with a peculiar hobby of shooting at the postman, a flirtatious maid, a scatterbrained guide, a boy scout leader with 50 kids, an inconvenient tourist family, and a young couple on the brink of marital crisis. The show is primarily in English with some parts in typical Venetian dialect. The initial approach is typical Benfield-style British humor, later transformed into something more familiar to us, especially concerning language, without ever altering the mechanisms of a perfect theatrical engine capable of making two hours pass pleasantly, with an extraordinary comedic crescendo.
